Daryle Singletary, gone too soon at the age of 46

Country singer Daryle Singletary passed away Monday morning at his home in Nashville. He was just 46 years old.

The Georgia native was best known for his 90s hits “I Let Her Lie”, “Too Much Fun” and “Amen Kind of Love.”

Singletary performed recently in Dadeville, AL and in Lafayette, LA. He was being promoted for an upcoming show in the Farmington, MO area.

His big break came in 1994. He sang a demo of “An Old Pair of Shoes” which Randy Travis later recorded. Travis later recommended Singletary to his management team. Later, he signed a recording contract with Giant records.

He released his first album in 1995, which was co-produced by Travis. The lead off single was “I’m Living Up to Her Low Expectations.” The song peaked at #39 on the Billboard country charts.

The second release from that self-titled debut album, “I Let Her Lie” went all the way to #2. Another top five hit, “Too Much Fun” peaked at #4.

A second album, “All Because of You” was released in 1996. The lead-off single, “Amen Kind of Love” peaked at #2 on the country charts.

That song though turned out to be his final top five hit. He would release three more albums.

“Taste of Country” is reporting Singletary died from an apparent blood clot.

He is survived by his wife Holly and four children.
